Le mete preferite di Olandesi e Belgi sono state le regioni italiane  relativamente vicine, come quelle del nord Italia, anche perché l’auto è il mezzo di trasporto preferito.

In particolare la Liguria, il Piemonte, il Veneto, la Toscana, il Lazio, i laghi e l’Emilia Romagna.
Per quanto riguarda il mercato belga, rispetto al 2007, la Riviera Adriatica ha registrato un +35%, la Liguria +25%, il Lago Maggiore +10%, Umbria e Toscana rispettivamente +8% e +5%.
Anche i flussi dall’Olanda presentano numeri molto interessanti: la Riviera Adriatica segna un +39%, +21% Roma e +14% la costa Ligure.
L’incremento di presenze estive verso l’Italia è dovuto in parte all’aumento di voli low cost e all’innalzamento della qualità dei servizi alberghieri ed extra alberghieri, ma anche ad un aumento della promozione dell’offerta turistica italiana verso i mercati stranieri.
Di certo l’Italia piace a questi turisti per 3 motivi principali: la nostra cultura enogastronomica, i nostri vini eccellenti e le ricchezze naturalistiche e paesaggistiche.
