Belgian and Dutch on holiday increasingly looking for Italian traditions
The Belgian and Dutch tourists love increasingly the destination Italy for their summer holidays.
The research confirms that dell’Enit compared to 2007, the summer of 2008 saw an increase in arrivals of 4.5% for the Belgian market.Only in the last 5 years, for the Belgian market arrivals increased by 12%, the attendance of 18%. An interesting fact considering that this is a rich tourist in a background of international economic recession.
The favorite destinations of Dutch and Belgians were the Italian regions relatively near, such as those of northern Italy, also because the car is the preferred means of transport. In particular, Liguria, Piedmont, Veneto, Tuscany, Lazio, lakes and Emilia Romagna.
As for the Belgian market, compared to 2007, the Adriatic Coast recorded + 35%, + 25% Liguria, Lake Maggiore + 10%, Umbria and Tuscany respectively + 8% and + 5%.
Even flows from Holland are very interesting numbers: the Adriatic Coast marks + 39%, + 21% Rome and + 14% the Ligurian coast.
The increase attendance of summer towards Italy is due in part to low cost flights to and adapt to the quality of hotel services and extra hotel, but also to an increase in tourism promotion to the Italian foreign markets .
Italy certainly like to these tourists for 3 main reasons: our gastronomic culture, our wines and the wealth and natural landscapes. Each region can be considered a country, boasting Italian traditions and landscapes always different, a wealth of unique treasures, scattered in cities culture, with folkloric events, fairs and festivals that highlight the typical characteristics of each place.
